The Ministry of Defense (Kemenhan) delivered 700 Maung MV3 tactical vehicles to the TNI and Polri on Saturday, March 1, 2025. "Today, the government officially hands over a national defense industry product managed by PT PINDAD for use by TNI and Polri in their operational duties," stated Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin after the vehicle handover at Husein Sastranegara Air Force Base in Bandung, West Java. Sjafrie noted that this delivery marks the second phase in reaching the goal of providing 4,000 tactical vehicles. The Maung MV3, produced domestically by PT Pindad, symbolizes Indonesia's resurgence in maintaining national stability. "This indicates that our national industry is thriving and that Indonesia is capable of ensuring national stability," Sjafrie remarked.
He emphasized that the government will consistently support the operational needs of those safeguarding the sovereignty of the Republic of Indonesia, specifically TNI and Polri. "It is important for the Indonesian public to know that TNI and Polri will be self-sufficient in protecting the sovereignty of the Republic," Sjafrie added. The 700 Maung MV3 vehicles will be distributed across all branches of TNI and Polri.
Several types of Maung MV3 were showcased, including the Sparta or Tangguh type and the Komando type designated for leaders. The TNI Headquarters received 50 units, the Army got 400 units, the Navy received 100 units, the Air Force also got 100 units, and Polri received 50 units of the Maung MV3. Sjafrie explained that these units will be utilized throughout Indonesia, reaching even the most remote areas. "These will be continuously used across the entire national territory," he said. Furthermore, the Maung MV3 units will serve from the highest leadership levels down to village-level guardians.
