The Budget For The Ministry Of Defense And The Military Has Been Reduced By 26.9 Trillion Rupiah, Leaving A Total Of 139.2 Trillion Rupiah

The Deputy Minister of Defense, Air Marshal (Ret.) Donny Ermawan Taufanto, stated that the Ministry of Defense (Kemenhan) and the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) are also affected by budget cuts. He mentioned that the budget for Kemenhan and TNI has been reduced by IDR 26.99 trillion. Donny shared this information during a meeting with Commission I of the DPR at the DPR Building in Senayan, Jakarta, on Thursday (February 13, 2025). "The budget efficiency for Kemenhan and TNI amounts to IDR 26.993 trillion. This information is verbal and has been followed up with official documents. Ministries and agencies can propose the reallocation of activities that are more prioritized and productive to report to their leaders," Donny explained.

He clarified that the budget cuts at Kemenhan and TNI only affect goods and capital expenditures. He noted that employee expenses are not subject to these cuts. "The budget remains in the DIPA of Kemenhan and TNI, but it is currently blocked," he added.

Initially, the total budget for Kemenhan and TNI was IDR 166.2 trillion. After the efficiency measures of IDR 26.99 trillion, they still have a budget of IDR 139.2 trillion. The breakdown of budget cuts for each organizational unit is as follows: Kemenhan: IDR 8.43 trillion, TNI Headquarters: IDR 3.68 trillion, Army (AD): IDR 5.16 trillion, Navy (AL): IDR 6.07 trillion, and Air Force (AU): IDR 3.36 trillion.
