The Ministry of Finance has confirmed that the scholarship program managed by the Education Fund Management Institution (LPDP) will continue despite budget cuts. "All ongoing scholarships will not be affected at all," stated LPDP's CEO Andin Hadiyanto at the DPR building on Thursday (February 13, 2025). The XI Commission of the Indonesian House of Representatives had previously approved a budget reduction for the Ministry of Finance amounting to IDR 8.99 trillion. As a result, the remaining budget for 2025 is IDR 44.20 trillion, down from the initial IDR 53.19 trillion. However, Andin assured that this efficiency measure will not impact LPDP scholarship recipients, whether they are current or future students. "It's from the endowment fund, so it's secure," he said. Meanwhile, the Ministerial Scholarship for 2025, which was canceled due to budget cuts, will be re-evaluated. "This is part of our talent management that we are reassessing, so we encourage it to go through LPDP," he added.
