The Chairman of the National Awakening Party (PKB), Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin), revealed that President Prabowo Subianto is proposing a permanent coalition for his current supporting parties. This was shared during a gathering with leaders of the Indonesia Maju Coalition (KIM) at Padepokan Garuda Yaksa in Sentul, West Java, on Friday, February 14, 2025.
"The main point is to strengthen the coalition. Mr. Prabowo is offering a permanent coalition. He emphasizes that unity is essential for the government," Cak Imin stated after the event. He expressed that PKB welcomes the idea of a permanent coalition, believing it will enhance and accelerate development.
Prabowo is backed by the Indonesia Maju Coalition (KIM), which includes Gerindra Party as the main force, along with Golkar Party, PAN, and the Democratic Party. Additionally, it comprises non-parliamentary parties like PSI, Gelora Party, Crescent Star Party, Garuda Party, and Prima Party.
Following the presidential election, this coalition has expanded. Former opponents of KIM, such as PKS, PKB, PPP, Perindo, and Nasdem, have joined, now referred to as KIM Plus. When asked about the permanent coalition in relation to the 2029 presidential election, Cak Imin confirmed, "Yes, it’s permanent." However, he did not respond when asked if they would support Prabowo Subianto again.
Meanwhile, the Daily Chairman of Gerindra Party, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, mentioned at the event that the President expressed gratitude for the efforts of the Indonesia Maju Coalition (KIM) during the first 100 days of his administration. Regarding government budget efficiency, Dasco noted that it should not affect public service allocations from ministries and agencies.
"It was explained that there is budget efficiency and its benefits. It was also clarified that budget efficiency does not reduce rights, especially in public services," Dasco added.
