The Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) has approved the Draft Law (RUU) on the Third Amendment to Law Number 19 of 2003 concerning State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), turning it into law. The approval took place during a plenary meeting led by Deputy Chairman Sufmi Dasco Ahmad at the DPR building in Jakarta on Tuesday, February 4, 2025. Present at the meeting were Minister of BUMN Erick Thohir, Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati, and Deputy Minister of Finance Thomas Djiwandono. Dasco then asked the Chairman of Commission VI, Anggia Ermarini, to present the report on the discussions regarding the BUMN bill.

After the report, Dasco inquired if all attending members of the DPR agreed to pass the bill into law. "We ask all members if the Draft Law on the Third Amendment to Law Number 19 of 2003 concerning State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) can be approved to become law?" Dasco asked. The assembly members responded in unison with their approval, followed by a gavel strike to signify the bill's passage into law. Previously, the government and Commission VI had discussed the BUMN bill and agreed to bring it to the plenary session on this day, February 4, 2025.

Chairman of the working committee, Eko Hendro Purnomo (Eko Patrio), stated that from January 30 to February 1, 2025, the committee had conducted a series of meetings to discuss the draft of the BUMN bill. A total of 2,411 issues were addressed. "The report on the working committee's findings regarding the Third Amendment to Law Number 19 of 2003 on BUMN has received approval in this level 1 discussion and will proceed to level 2 or decision-making in the upcoming plenary session," Eko said at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Saturday, February 1, 2025.
