The term of the Constitutional Court Honorary Council (MKMK) has been extended for one year until December 31, 2025. Originally, the term was set to end on December 31, 2024. With this extension, I Dewa Gede Palguna will continue as the chair and member, Ridwan Mansyur will serve as the secretary and member, and Yuliandri will remain a member. "We are entrusted again to carry out our supervisory duties," said Suhartoyo during his speech after the oath-taking of the three MKMK members at the Constitutional Court Building in Jakarta on Thursday, January 2, 2025.
Suhartoyo mentioned that the extension of the MKMK's term is to enhance oversight of the Constitutional Court, especially when it deals with disputes over local election results. "We hope the presence of the Constitutional Court Honorary Council will further meet institutional needs and public expectations from the Constitutional Court, particularly during the handling of local election dispute cases," Suhartoyo added.
After the oath-taking, I Dewa Gede Palguna stated that the three MKMK members would begin their work with a brief meeting to elect a chair. "It was agreed that the MKMK structure remains the same, consisting of three members, and I have been appointed by my esteemed colleagues here as chair, Ridwan Mansyur as secretary, and Prof Yuliandri as a member," he said.
