President Prabowo Subianto has officially appointed Muhammad Taufiq as the Head of the National Administrative Agency (LAN). Before this role, Taufiq served as the Deputy for Civil Service Competency Development Policy. This appointment is stated in Presidential Decree Number 189/TPA of 2024.
The decree outlines the dismissal and appointment of high-ranking officials within LAN. According to a press release from LAN, the decree was read by Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Rini Widyantini.
Muhammad Taufiq's inauguration took place at the Prof. Agus Dwiyanto Hall, LAN Office, Central Jakarta, on Friday, December 20, 2024.
During the event, Rini Widyantini shared three hopes for LAN's future leadership. First, she expressed a desire for LAN to lead through transformation, becoming a pioneer in innovation to accelerate bureaucratic changes across all sectors. Second, she emphasized the need to develop competitive Civil Servants (ASN), aiming for professionals who are competent and have integrity to meet modern demands. Lastly, Rini called for enhanced synergy with stakeholders, urging for expanded collaboration to strengthen national and international networks.
The appointment of the Head of LAN followed a series of tests and selections conducted by the Selection Committee starting on September 19, 2024. The selection process included administrative assessments, policy brief writing, managerial and socio-cultural competency evaluations, and interviews.
