Ministry Of MSMEs To Create Super Apps “Sapa UMKM”

The Ministry of MSMEs plans to launch a Super App called "SAPA UMKM" as a central hub for information and services for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) across Indonesia. This was announced by the Minister of MSMEs, Maman Abdurrahman, during the Entrepreneur Hub Jakarta Raya Session IV with the theme “Grow and Sustain” at Trisakti University, Jakarta, on Thursday (November 28, 2024).

"We, the Ministry of MSMEs, will create a Super App for MSMEs throughout Indonesia. We will develop SAPA UMKM, where anyone in Indonesia can learn about MSMEs, business prospects in certain areas, explore business potential, and discover various technologies by visiting this Super App," Maman explained. He added that this Super App will serve not only as an information center but also as a platform for communication and interaction among business players. He envisions this platform as an ecosystem that integrates various needs of MSME actors, such as access to financing, training, marketing, and export opportunities.

This Super App is expected to be a significant step in the digitalization of the MSME ecosystem and is projected to accommodate up to 40 million business owners.

"In SAPA UMKM, there will be around 30-40 million MSME entrepreneurs joining this marketplace. It will be a place for you to communicate, interact, and address all issues. Thus, we will have a large MSME community," he stated. The Super App "SAPA UMKM" is also anticipated to be a breakthrough in supporting the digitalization of MSMEs and enhancing the competitiveness of local products in both domestic and international markets.

This application is built using advanced technology like machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI) to provide continuously updated information, including market potential and business developments.

"We will create a system that incorporates machine learning and dynamic artificial intelligence. It will update all information developments," said Maman. Following the direction of President Prabowo Subianto, the Ministry of MSMEs, through "SAPA UMKM," aims to unify various MSME-related applications into one platform. This is the first step towards digital consolidation for existing applications in the MSME sector. "We want to consolidate all apps in the MSME sector into one. My role as the leader of MSMEs is to open up the market as much as possible for entrepreneurs and traders," Maman emphasized. (srirahayu@insightinnews.com)
