By srirahayu@insightinnews.com President Prabowo Subianto received letters of credence from seven extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassadors of friendly nations. The ceremony took place at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Monday, November 4, 2024. The proceedings commenced with the national anthems of each respective country being played as the ambassadors arrived at the Merdeka Palace. The seven ambassadors welcomed by President Prabowo are: - Marc Gerritsen, Designate Resident Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Republic of Indonesia; - Roberto Sarmento de Oliveira Saores, Designate Resident Ambassador of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste to the Republic of Indonesia; - Martin Makururu, Designate Resident Ambassador of the Republic of Zimbabwe to the Republic of Indonesia; - Oybek Eshonov, Designate Resident Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Republic of Indonesia; - Wang Lutong, Designate Resident Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Indonesia; - Abdelouahab Osmane, Designate Resident Ambassador of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria to the Republic of Indonesia; - Enkhtaivan Dashnyam, Designate Resident Ambassador of Mongolia to the Republic of Indonesia. The presentation of the letters of credence marks the official commencement of the ambassadors' assignments in Indonesia. Following the ceremony, the ambassadors were received by President Prabowo Subianto in the oval room of the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta. Subsequently, the ambassadors bid farewell, with the Indonesian national anthem, "Indonesia Raya," being played during the occasion. Accompanying President Prabowo Subianto at this event were Foreign Minister Sugiono and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
