The Nutrition Agency Requests SPPG To Create Social Media For Transparency

Tuesday, 04 Mar 2025

The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has requested that the Nutrition Management Unit (SPPG), responsible for the Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG), create social media accounts to share the nutritious menus they prepare. BGN Head Dadan Hindayana stated that establishing these accounts is essential for transparency, allowing the public to monitor the SPPG's work. "We are now asking all SPPGs to set up social media accounts, like Instagram and Facebook, to post daily meals as part of our collective oversight," Dadan said in Jakarta on Monday (March 3, 2025). He emphasized that social media openness is a step towards transparency, enabling the community to keep an eye on the quality of the food provided. "This is part of our joint monitoring to ensure food quality is maintained," Dadan added.

While posting videos and photos on social media cannot guarantee complete oversight of the MBG products, it is intended to serve as a communication tool for the public. "As for taste, the recipients will know, and if there are issues like spoilage, reports will come from the respective locations," Dadan explained. "It's important to note that in our nearly 14 months of experience, we check our ingredients and meals every month," he continued. Nevertheless, Dadan claimed that evaluations of the MBG program over the past two months have shown positive results. "Thank goodness, everything is generally running smoothly. SPPGs that have been operating for over four weeks are now accustomed to the system, and there are almost no issues," Dadan concluded.
