Wednesday, 12 Mar 2025

The People's Consultative Assembly (DPR) approved the evaluation results of Commission II regarding the leadership of the Election Organizer Honorary Council (DKPP) during a plenary meeting. This evaluation is in line with Article 228A, Paragraphs (1) and (2) of the DPR Regulation No. 1 of 2025, which amends DPR Regulation No. 1/2020 on the DPR's Code of Conduct. "We seek the approval of the factions regarding the evaluation of the DKPP leadership for the 2022-2027 term. Can we agree?" asked Deputy Chairman of the DPR, Adies Kadir, during the plenary session in Jakarta on Wednesday (March 6, 2025). The attendees responded, "Agreed."

Adies stated that the evaluation results for the DKPP leadership from 2022 to 2027 would be followed up according to the applicable laws and procedures. During this meeting, Deputy Chairman of Commission II, Zulfikar Sadikin Arse, reported on the internal evaluation of the DKPP leadership. Zulfikar noted that Commission II conducted a closed evaluation of the DKPP's performance for the 2022-2027 term on Tuesday (February 11, 2025). "Commission II has provided several important notes regarding the performance evaluation report of the DKPP leadership for the 2022-2027 term," Zulfikar said.

The DPR's evaluation of the DKPP includes ten key points, one of which emphasizes the need for independence from political influence, group interests, or external parties. "The DKPP must establish stricter mechanisms to prevent conflicts of interest and ensure the neutrality of its members," Zulfikar added. Additionally, Commission II encourages the DKPP to enhance its performance in resolving complaints and ethical reports related to election organizers. Zulfikar revealed that, according to DKPP data, there were 881 complaints from 2024 until January 31, 2025.

Specifically, there were 790 complaints in 2024 and 91 in January 2025. "Of these, only 217 complaints were resolved in 2024, leaving many unresolved complaints from both 2024 and 2025," Zulfikar stated.
