Citilink will move its operations at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang, Banten, to Terminals 1 and 2 starting March 15, 2025. According to their official website on February 25, 2025, domestic flights will operate from Terminal 1B, while international flights will be relocated to Terminal 2F. Previously, all Citilink flights were scheduled to depart from Terminal 3. This change is part of a plan by Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Erick Thohir to reorganize low-cost carrier (LCC) terminals.
As reported by Kompas.com, Terminal 1 will be dedicated to LCCs. "Terminal 3 will be for full-service airlines, while Terminal 2F will be designated for umrah flights, and low-cost carriers will operate from Terminal 1," said Faik Fahmi, President Director of PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports), as quoted by Kompas.com on January 2, 2025. In addition to Citilink, AirAsia Indonesia and Lion Air will also move to Terminal 1.
Although Terminal 1 will focus on LCCs, it will undergo renovations to enhance its appearance. "We have completed 30 percent of the work, and I aim to finish it by August," Faik added.
