The Financial Services Authority (OJK) reported that as of February 9, 2025, a total of 19,980 accounts linked to fraud have been blocked. This figure represents 28 percent of the 70,390 accounts reported to the Indonesia Anti-Scam Centre (IASC). Friderica Widyasari Dewi, the Executive Head of the Financial Services Behavior Supervision, Education, and Consumer Protection (KE PEPK) at OJK, stated that IASC has received 42,257 fraud reports since it began operations on November 22, 2024. "Of the 70,390 accounts reported for fraud, 19,980 have been blocked, which is 28 percent," she said in Jakarta on Friday, February 21, 2025, as reported by Antara. Victims have reported losses totaling Rp 700.2 billion, with Rp 106.8 billion of that amount successfully blocked.
IASC was established by OJK in collaboration with the Task Force for the Eradication of Illegal Financial Activities (Satgas PASTI) and with support from financial services industry associations. Its goal is to quickly address fraud in the financial sector and deter offenders. Friderica emphasized that IASC enhances coordination among financial service providers in handling fraud reports by delaying transactions, blocking related accounts, identifying perpetrators, and working to recover victims' funds. "IASC is supported by banking associations, payment system providers, and e-commerce platforms. Its capacity will continue to be improved to handle financial fraud cases more swiftly," she added.
Additionally, OJK has received 16,610 complaints regarding illegal entities through Satgas PASTI from January 1, 2024, to January 31, 2025. Of these, 15,477 complaints were about illegal online loans, and 1,133 were related to illegal investments. From January 1, 2024, to January 24, 2025, 3,517 illegal online loans and 519 illegal investment entities have been shut down.
