The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has experienced a budget cut of Rp 200.2 billion from its total allocation of Rp 71 trillion for the year 2025. This reduction represents 0.2845 percent of the original budget. BGN Head Dadan Hindayana shared this information after a closed meeting with Commission IX of the Indonesian House of Representatives at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday night (February 12, 2025). "In the end, we achieved an efficiency of 0.2845 percent, which amounts to Rp 200,200,000,000," Dadan stated after the meeting. He explained that this efficiency was reached following discussions with State Secretary Prasetyo Hari and Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati. Dadan noted that the cuts were related to land procurement.
This reduction aligns with President Prabowo Subianto's directive during a recent inspection visit to a region. "There are areas that need to be made more efficient. After the President's visit, we reported that there was land we needed to acquire," Dadan said. "The President advised us not to proceed with the purchase. Instead, we should borrow from local governments or other ministries, allowing us to save funds," he added. However, Dadan was unsure about the specific uses of the funds that were cut. "We were given an efficiency of Rp 200.2 billion, which we sourced from land procurement. Clearly, we are making savings in that area," Dadan emphasized. Previously, it was reported that President Prabowo Subianto issued Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 1 of 2025 regarding budget cuts. This instruction was followed by a letter from the Finance Minister, Number S-37/MK.02/2025, mandating a budget saving of Rp 256.10 trillion across ministries and agencies. Initially, BGN was one of the agencies not affected by budget cuts, but now it too is facing reductions.
