Zudan Arif Has Been Appointed As The Head Of BKN. The Minister Of PANRB Stated That This Will Speed Up The Transformation Of ASN Management

The Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform, Rini Widyantini, officially appointed Zudan Arif Fakrulloh as the Head of the National Civil Service Agency (BKN) in Jakarta on Tuesday, January 7, 2025. Zudan faces significant challenges in his new role, particularly in improving and transforming the management of civil servants (ASN).

Rini emphasized in her speech that the ASN Law mandates the direction of ASN management transformation moving forward. She expressed hope for continued synergy, collaboration, and teamwork that have been well established.

Rini highlighted the importance of strong collaboration with related agencies, including BKN, LAN, and ANRI, stating that successful outcomes cannot be achieved without it.

The first task Rini outlined for Zudan is to strengthen the merit system. BKN must ensure that recruitment, placement, and promotion of ASN are conducted transparently and accountably.

The second task involves the management of ASN. Rini urged the implementation of supervision, guidance, and improvement of the ASN management system.

The third task is the assessment of ASN competencies. Rini expects Zudan and the BKN team to ensure that assessments for ASN are conducted professionally and objectively to evaluate and develop their competencies.

Lastly, BKN is expected to foster a culture of excellent public service. Rini advised that BKN should enhance its services to ASN through technology. "Ensure that personnel services to ASN are delivered professionally, efficiently, and based on increasingly accurate and reliable data," Rini stated.

Zudan is not new to the bureaucratic field, having previously served as the Director General of Population and Civil Registration at the Ministry of Home Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia from July 1, 2015, to March 15, 2023.

Zudan has been the Secretary of the National Border Management Agency since March 15, 2023. The Minister of Home Affairs has also appointed him as the Acting Governor of Gorontalo and the Acting Governor of South Sulawesi.

Now, Zudan takes over from Haryomo Dwi Putranto, who was the Acting Head of BKN. Rini emphasized that this leadership change is not just a formality, but a significant moment to continue the transformation.
